The FISE BMX Freestyle contest in Hungary was a World Cup event for the riders. Final day on Saturday was a sunny but windy day. The ladies had to watch out with air tricks as the light bikes get blown away easy. It was the first time they had a live stream with the ladies event.

I arrived with a goal to have fun and have an awesome time

Eight ladies made it to the finals with Hannah Roberts from the USA, Lara Lessmann from Germany and Nikita Ducarrozz from Switzerland at the top three seats.

Two heats with four ladies and each lady had 2 runs, both counting. In the first heat it was Shanice Cruz from the Netherlands who was stealing the show. In both runs she excited the crowed with her Back-Flips, 540’s on the quarter, 360’s, 540 tire-tap and even a 270 dropping in in her second run. Shanise took the lead with 78 points which was strange with the tricks and variation she showed.

In the second heat Lara Lessmann showed everybody that it was not a surprise she came in the final as second. With keeping good speed and a mix of tricks, one foot can can, footplant on the wall, seat grabs and ofcourse the combo of a Paddle Flip-Barspin which she tried twice as she felt. She wanted to show she could do it.

I felt nervous but also exited. The wind was very hard so it wasn't easy to ride perfect.

Hannah, Perez and Nikita started furious as well but had less tricks to show and sadly all fell in their runs. Hannah pulled out a great Flair but this heat it was Lara who was able to beat Shanice.

When the scores came out it was Lara Lessmann who won with a huge score of 84 points. Where we thought Shanice would be the number two but it was Nikita who took the second place with 79.60 points and Hannah third place with 79.20 points.

Congrats ladies!
